Jefferson Boulevard’s Pioneering Latino History

The historic Jefferson Boulevard became a cultural and commercial hub for Latino immigrants starting in the mid-20th century. As they settled in the area, they opened small businesses, transforming the once declining street into a vibrant center for Latino commerce and culture.

Today, Jefferson Blvd is known for its diversity and rich blend of Mexican-American-owned shops, restaurants, and cultural landmarks that reflect the community's resilience and contribution to the neighborhood's revival.
